Railways Minister Piyush Goyal going to implement online payment facility for the vendors

IndianRailways – Here comes the latest news about Indian Railways, just a day(11th Oct 2017) ago Indian Railways Minister Piyush Goyal stated that they are going to implement online payment facility, for the vendors within 30 days from the day of receiving the consignment. This is because adding these changed will bring the procurement cost of national transporter will be reduced. 

Goyal who took in charge as a railway minister on 3rd September also stated that he was very much surprised to see Indian Railways issuing tenders for electrifying distances as short 30-40 km. And that distance is a rate at Indian Railways will complete its mission of electrification. 

Furthermore, he told that he has directed the electrification directorate to issue the electrification tenders with a minimum of 500 km track length. Which will ensure the electrification to reduce the cost and improve the speed. The Three rail coach factories at Raebareli. Chennai, Kapurthala will expand its capacities by 2019-20. 

Since these facilities are now lying idle for 16 hours per day and it can be upgraded to raise the production up to 5,000 to 6,000 units per year because now the current production is only 1000 units per year. Along with this the “RDSO to ensure faster Technology adoption and reduce the red tape” said Goyal. By taking these measures, the Indian Railways is going to bring the global standards for railway equipment and technology, and the time is shorter where the people need not have to come to Railways to get their payments it will be done online through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS). “I am sure that it will reduce the cost by 10 to 15%” said Goyal at the International Rail Conference and Exhibition organized by the industry lobby group Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) in New Delhi.

This announcements from the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal at the International Conference held at Delhi drew the mix responses from all those companies which are linked with the Railways Sectors in India The Vice President of Siemens Ltd Tilak R. Seth, said that the idea of larger electrification contracts is a great chance and we would be desiring to be a part of it. 

Currently, Siemens provides electrification solutions for many metro rail networks in India. And is now focusing on the contract on electrifying the Indian Railways. In addition to this, two of its technologies are waiting for the Clearance of Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) for around a year. 

Chief Executive of a company providing equipment to Railways said that there may be a lot of take away from the Ministers speech, but then we have to wait and watch whether the is going to make this words into action or not. Because railway ministers before also had made several announcements about the development of the Indian Railways but not much improvement was seen. 

May it be the matter of lower level or Higher Level. He also stated that if the Railways systemize with the international standards a lot of Indian Companies would lose their business as upgradation requires lot of money.
